Skot has been performing internationally for several years. He started composing for the cello at the age of eight. He studied with Babatunde Olatunji, famous for bringing African drumming to the U.S. He then toured with the National Dance Troupe of Ghana, and lived with the master drummer of the Dagomba Tribe. He plays guitar and sings and also plays: Kalymba, African Thumb Piano, Gu Xheng, Chinese Harp, Clarinet and Alto, Bamboo Flute, Native American Flute, Djembe, Dumbek, Congas, and Frame Drum, Flamenco Guitar, Synthesizer Hand Drum, and Nigerian Wood Xylophone.
